Ribbons will be awarded for the top 32 swimmers. The majority of the events are raced as prelim and finals. If your swimmer is the top 8 they will race again in the afternoon finals. Please make sure to complete entries by 7/6/17.

Great first week of practice! There will be no practice tomorrow. There are no practices on Fridays in May.
On Wednesday the air quality index reached a level that resulted in all after school practices at RBG school. We as a team followed with their policy to cancel practice due to the air quality index.
There were many swimmers that passed their 25 yard length test. We will be continuing to test the rest of the swimmers next week during the 3:30 practice. When they pass this test those swimmers may go to any of the practice times offered.
Regular practice times will be held at the following times.
7:00-8:00pm *This generally has the fewest swimmers
All practices are mixed age groups. You are not assigned to participate in a specific practice time. Remember the more consistent your swimmer is able to practice the more improvement you will see through the season.
For a more detailed practice schedule go to the link below.
Next week swimmers will be able to enter into the Red & Blue Meet, Wasco A Meet, and the Wasco B Meet. Swimmers will either be able to enter via an online form that will be emailed to you or posted on our website or you may enter via a sign up form that will be posted at the pool. If is very crucial that you always check to confirm that your swimmer was entered into the meet correctly. It is your responsibility to check the meet program for each meet to make sure your swimmers events are correct.
Red & Blue (Friday May19th @ 4pm)
This is a practice or scrimmage meet with just RBG swimmers. We highly encourage all swimmers to attend this meet if possible. It is a fun way to either get back into the swing of a swim meet format or a good first look at how meets will run.
Wasco A Meet (Saturday May 27 @ 9am)
This will be our first regular season meet. The meet is held at the Barker Park in Wasco. This meet is open to all RBG swimmers.
Wasco B Meet (Tuesday May 30 @ 5pm)
We participate in three B meets during the season. B meets are generally for less advanced swimmers. It is a great place to get started if your swimmer is new. Please do not feel like if your swimmer is new that they can only do B meets. There are time standards for all B meets. Once a swimmer has timed out of an event (swims faster than the time standard) they are no longer eligible for that event. If they time out of two events they are no longer eligible for B meets. There will be a link below posted for the B Time Standards.
If you miss an entry deadline there is an option to enter a meet late. For any late entry there will be a $10 late fee per swimmer. There is a link on our website for late entries for the meets throughout the season.
Relays are a highlight for many swimmers. Each relay is formed from the swimmers that sign up to be placed on a relay team for each of the A meets. There are no relays at the B meets. The coaches do their best to get as many swimmers on relay teams from week to week. Relay teams are based on seed times (or their fastest time). Most of the relays are freestyle relays. Be watching for the relay signup sheets on the pool deck. Relays are separate from the regular entry form. * There are no relay sign ups available online.
6pm at RBG School Intersection of Enos Ln. and Kratzmeyer.
Please plan on joining us on Monday evening in the auditorium at RBG School. We will be giving a short overview of the season and serving a spaghetti dinner.
Team gear- There will be team gear available to order for the 2017 season. Please plan on bringing payment (check or cash) for any of the team gear orders. There will also be some gear from previous year available for purchase.
Team Registration Fees- If you need to make a payment for swimmers fees you may do so the night of orientation dinner. All payment made after registration dinner will be done online with a higher fee.
Suit Sizing- All swimmers who have not been able to be sized for a team suit will have that opportunity that night.*If you are not able to make it to the orientation dinner and your swimmer still needs to be sized for a team suit, there will be another opportunity on May 2 or May 3 at RBG school during swim practice.
First Practice is May 1st. Click on the link below to see practice times.
Please remember that from 3:30pm-4:00pm will be any beginning (younger) swimmers that need to make sure they can swim the 25 yard distance. There is not a specific age for the length requirement. This would generally pertain to swimmers ages 4-8. If your swimmer is older and you have concern whether they can swim the distance, by all means have them come and swim the length.
The swim season is rapidly approaching and we need to start to think about getting suits for all our kiddos. With that being said, we need to individually size each swimmer to ensure that we have the correct fit for the suit. We are using TYR suits this year and they are a very different fit than the Dolphin suits that we have used in the past.
We will have two sizing days to have your child come and try on a suit. Below are the times and places for each suit sizing. It is very important that EVERY swimmer be sized as this is a new type of suit. If you do not or cannot attend one of the sizing days you can be sized at the spaghetti dinner that will occur on April 24.
Suits will only be ordered if you have been sized and have paid your dues for the swim season. We will also be sizing the first week of practice for those who cannot attend a sizing day or the spaghetti dinner. We cannot stress enough the importance of getting your child sized as soon as possible so that they will have a suit at the start of the season.
If you attend a sizing day and are paid in full, you will have your suit at the spaghetti dinner. If not, you will have your suit by the red/blue meet. We, as a team are only placing two orders this year, so PLEASE utilize one of these days to get sized. We really appreciate all your help in the matter.
